Inspiration: {Lovely, lovely books}

{This post actually has a purpose. I am about to share a bit of my day. Ready? Despite today being a cold rainy day, deplete of sunshine, I was actually feeling optimistic and I had an objective... to find a good book to read. The thing is I rarely read any more. Instead, I "treat" myself to reading two or three books during annual beach vacations. So I asked myself, why am I depriving myself of something I love and enjoy doing, even as a young girl...

 ...so off I went to the local goodwill store close to my workplace during my lunch hour. It isn't that I cannot afford to buy new books from a bookstore, I simply like the idea of recycling books and the money spent at goodwill goes to support people in need in the community...

...incredibly, I found four amazing books. They are: "Red Dust" by Gillian Slovo; "A Fine Balance" by Rohinton Mistry; "The Heart is a Lonely Hunter" by Carson McCullers and the one I am most looking forward to reading... "L'histoire de Pi" (The Life of Pi) by Yann Martel. I have never read "The Life of Pi" and when I saw the french translation of it, I had to purchase it...

...the images of this post are meant to convey my story... image 1) optimism, which I felt today as I set out to fulfill my objective; image 2) pleasure of curling up in a comfortable chair to read and image 3) an imagery analogy of where I hope these books will transport me to, foreign and exotic places.   Have a nice evening, as for me, I'm off to begin reading one of my books!

"Literature is where I go to explore the highest and lowest places in human society and in the human spirit, where I hope to find not absolute truth but the truth of the tale, of the imagination and of the heart." ~ Salman Rushdie.}
