the good life

: : it's been a week since we returned from Sweden already. I look at the photos every day wishing I was still sitting on the dock by the sauna with my feet in the water. the two weeks we did spend at home were wonderful! .Iz. spoke Swedish the whole time! He deserves an award. There were family olympic tournaments, croquet championships, water ballet, sailing, kayaking, tennis, golf. And a lot of time spent eating and drinking, enjoying the company of relatives and friends. I will share more photos soon. This past week of work has been very hectic though and I've barely unpacked my suitcase.

I'm hoping for a few more weeks of sunny warm weather here in Boston, summer ain't over yet!

Canadian Artist, Biliana Velkova

(OMG, this artist strikes so many cords all at once. Not only is she Canadian, but her art, as shown above, feeds my uncontrollable and inexplainable giddiness when near all things fashion designer-made; even when represented in art! Unfortunately, I can't take credit for discovering Biliana Velkova, a very talented Vancouver-based artist on the internet. I read about her in Canada's September Fashion Magazine "Flare", by Elio Iannacci (thanks Flare!). Biliana's work examines consumerist culture by exploring motifs of glamour, kitsch and brand names. She searches ways to fit these references into her everyday reality by way of performances and social interventions. Biliana is represented by Jeffrey Boone Gallery in Vancouver and will be exhibited at the Toronto International Art Fair, October 2-6, 2008. Biliana has her own blog here. P.S. I am silently making inquiries about the green Hermes purse. Don't tell anyone!)

(Yes, Jessica Simpson! As soon as I saw the first ad while pursuing my "Lucky" magazine, I knew I had to post about her collection. The first photograph duplicates exactly my style, a polished and sophisticated look, not too over done. The shoes and handbag look worth purchasing. The second and third pics are to entice you to have a peek here for yourself. )

I'm feeling
