photo update maybe

: : I think this weekend it might happen. I have the whole weekend to myself to work on the apartment, and I might just find the camera and be able to put together a small photo collage of our new place.

I think this room divider is cool. I apologize, I can no longer remember where I found it.

nonchalant mom

: : domino mag has been a constant source of inspiration for me lately. and I just received the new issue in the mail!! I found this article about .carina schott. , owner of nonchalant mom [via decor8]. it reminds me of home somehow, maybe it's the forest setting, the black facade with a red door, the simplicity of the house....I don't know, but there's a very scandinavian feel about it. I love how the house is built in two parts. the house just seems to have a really good balance of function and aesthetics. some day....maybe we'll find a house like this.

Inspirational room

(I know what you are thinking...here she goes once again posting an interior with a zebra rug! What can I say, I'm a bit of a frantic about interiors with zebra rugs. But this time, what really caught my eye was the punch of high-gloss orange. I also love the door, so mod! Image source: Domino)

Inspired at Last!

(Fellow blogger, Purple Area is my savior. Uninspired as I was, this morning, during breakfast, I was perusing my favorite bloggers and through Purple Area's recent post discovered an awesome retailer that sells everything from clothing to home accessories, Tine K Home. Enjoy!)

Does absence make the heart grow fonder?

(I've been lacking inspiration lately, so fewer posts. That is not to say I haven't been thinking of you. Would love to hear from you. Purses from Maxx New York. Loving both, especially the blue croco. It is so hard to find the perfect blue purse.)

bedroom rug

: : we're planning on painting our bedroom a pale green, and are having a hard time finding a rug that will fit well. we don't want a light colored rug because it gets dirty so quickly. so I'm liking this hot pink. anyone know where you can get rug tiles like this in hot pink?

: : the big move

: : so the big move happened on sunday. two truck loads, two moving dudes and some very helpful friends....and then we were sitting in our new apartment, surrounded by boxes and pieces of furniture stacked on top of each other. every day there are improvements, but we have a long way to go. we're currently working on picking some colors for the rooms. nice timing with the long weekend coming up. it will likely be spent unpacking and painting. I promise I will share updates on here. it's just that, I can barely find clothes to wear in the mornings, let alone a camera to document our progress. soon.....

all I know is that .hanna werning's. animal flower wallpapers will be decorating our walls, somewhere in the apartment!

Modern Beach Decor

Summer is here and like the rest of the world, our mind is at the beach. We're so sick of the typical beach decor though. For some reasons it's always the tiresome shabby chic stuff. One of the best beach homes we've seen is in the movie "As Good As It Gets" with Dianne Keaton and Jack Nicholson. Have you seen it? The movie is so so (Dianne Keaton was totally annoying), oh but the decor is wonderful! If you have a chance, rent the video. We guarantee you'll love it (the decor, that is).

Here are some great items for a beach home. We hope you'll enjoy them!

This pretty shell is also from Arteriors.

This pretty bedding set is from Wildcat Territory.

We'll be adding more products in the near future. In the mean time, if you need help with any of the above line, please email us.

Pretty Upholstered Beds

Don't you just love upholstered beds? We do. It's a great way to express your personality and your style. You can make it as luxurious or as simple as you want, just by choosing the right fabric. You can be creative--adding nickel nailheads, tufting, or trims can just change the look completely.

We found a great upholstery company based here in Los Angeles that makes wonderful beds, Nathan Anthony. The beds range from $1800-2500 depending on the fabric. We prefer to do it in our own fabrics (COM-customer own material).

Here are some of our favorites:

Tatum Bed-This bed is pretty. It is similiar to the bed Charlotte has in Sex in the City. You can dress this up considerably with a nice expensive fabric, or keep it simple with a simple cotton stripe or floral fabric.

Elliott Bed-This bed is nice and masculine. We like doing this bed in a simple linen or velvet, preferably solid.

We like this bed for its coziness. This will be wonderful in a velvet or silk fabric.
We like this bed for a tween, or a young girl. It's not too childish yet it looks fresh & young. We love doing this in a pretty floral.
This bed is so pretty for a Hollywood Regency look. A nice faux leather would be fantastic with ith.
We like the simplicity of this bed. We do it often in faux suede.

As simple as this bed is, it's our favorite.

If you need help with any of the above beds, email us and we'll be happy to help. To find upholstery fabric, check out our new site, Inside Fabric.com
